"FACING UP TO THE ARMS CHALLENGE" is a very powerful series of works which Jude has dedicated the past year to. The importance of his exhibition can best be summed up in some of his own words: “There is one firearm for every twelve people on the planet.
[Firearms] are wiping whole histories away. Can you change
things for the better? If not you, then who? […] These artworks represent my stance.”
By depicting the horror of conflict and the irreversible damage which often results, Jude has created masterpieces which will ensure that the much needed dialogue against armed conflict continues. As Jude states, “the lack of control of the arms trade is fuelling conflict, poverty and human rights abuses world-wide. Consequently, there is a need of FACING UP TO THE ARMS CHALLENGE.”
Jude is a phenomenal artist who is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Fine Arts at Makerere University.
We are very proud to host this exhibition and we hope that you will be able to join us for its opening!
