Contest Prizes
There are no cash prizes for this event. All entries gain international exposure on the Art Dept site which has hosted this most renown International Art Contest since 1998. All entries past and present are permanently archived and fully searchable for years to come. Selection of the winners is by the vote from all other artists entered and past present (not a biased jury). The winners gain the prestige of being selected above all others by their peers... many other talented artists from all around the world.
Awards are offered to the winner in each section, with their entries featured on the Art Dept home page for the following year.
Submitting and updating your entry
The entry form will not only record your entry details, but you will be able to create a login to submit your profile, add your entry, upload your image and check to see what it looks like on your entry page. You will also be able to login at any time to review your entry and modify it at any time until the entry close date on July 14th.
Entry terms and conditions
The aim of the contest is to provide an introduction to active artists, create interaction between artists worldwide, and offer a window to what is going on in the the world of popular and contemporary art amidst an age of automation and high tech.
The Contest is open to all mature artists International in the following categories:
Note that the majority of the composition must be created by the artist. Choice of subject is unrestricted but in essence must be a creative piece in that the majority of the the composition is created by the artist. A photograph does not qualify here as art... nor does the simple use of digital filters on photographs.
Entries will be on display for online voting and judging from 1st Aug - 31st Dec. The judging is via the Internet and decided by both the public vote and a panel of judges comprised of the entrants plus appointed critics.
One entry is allowed per artist and in one category only. The decision of which category to enter is entirely up to the artist however Art Dept reserves the final decision. The entered piece must have been created within 12 months of entry date. Each application is to include a photograph file for web presentation and judging which is to be uploaded to our server (not sent by email). The image file must be JPG for GIF - 550 x 400 pixel @ 72 dpi (minimum). Smaller images are not asuitable.
Copyright of entered artworks remains with the artist who agrees to grant permission to Art Dept to use the submitted material in exhibits on the Art Dept web site. All entries are permanently archived and displayed online for career reference to new entrants and students. Your permission to display the entry for the contest and later in the archives cannot be reversed and its use or removal is entirely at the discretion of Art Dept.
An entry fee of Aud$20 (about US$15) is payable by entry close date. Entry fees are to be paid online using credit card and no other method of payment will be accepted. If you do not have a credit card, please seek the help of a friend. Payments can be made online using our secure gateway and are not live transactions. The card will not be debited until after your entry has been completed and approved to the satisfaction of our art director.
How to submit
